Tech and opportunities highlighted at hybrid Wearable Technology SIG event

The Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC), with support from founding member Silverstone Park, held their first hybrid event for their Wearable Technology Special Interest Group; Opportunities in IoT and Wearable Technology.

Expert speakers joined the event both in person and online, each sharing their valuable insights:

Stephen Tulip of ACT, the App Association highlighted the depth of opportunities for innovators in IoT today as well as SEPs.

Loughborough University’s Professor Vicky Tolfrey explained about her work with para athletes and mobile technologies, while highlighting potential collaborative opportunities for cluster companies.

Alex Loudon, design lead at design consultancy tangerine, shared examples of the agency’s innovative wearable IoT work in the emerging sectors of smart monitoring and safer family communication. He also touched on emerging design trends, market opportunities and opportunities for collaboration with tangerine.

Andrew Delamare, IoT Specialist Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, shared with us his insider knowledge on the latest IoT and Wearable Tech.

The event was hosted by the STC CEO Pim van Baarsen, who commented; “It was good to hold our first hybrid event at Silverstone Park, and it was pleasing to see how well it worked. Obviously it helped that we had such an interesting topic and excellent speakers. They highlighted some of the really interesting work that is going on, and it is clear that this is an area that is going to grow and grow.”
