The Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) exists to help Advanced Engineering, Electronics and Software businesses in the wider geographical area surrounding Silverstone. The STC is specifically focused on the areas of:

• Promotion
• Support
• Thought Leadership

Promotion aims to raise the profile of STC members and their capabilities at a national and international level.

Support focuses on business growth and encouraging and helping businesses to scale up and lift themselves to the next level. See the Growth tab for more details.

Our partnership with Be the Business  for 2021 means companies in the cluster can benefit from SME Advisory Boards, Mentoring for Growth and Business Leadership Pathway.

For thought leadership, the STC has formed Special Interest Groups (SIGs) as a proven way to bring like-minded companies together to network, debate the latest developments in the industry and seek out new commercial opportunities. See the Groups tab for more details.

Bringing like-minded companies together and encouraging them to collaborate is very much at the heart of what the STC does, and as a not-for-profit organisation supported by founding members such as Barclays, Buckinghamshire Council, EMW Law, Grant Thornton, Hexagon, Silverstone Park and West Northamptonshire Council, it aims to deliver what its membership requires, without chasing any political or financial agendas.

Here is what our members have to say

The STC is a very dynamic and innovative industry body that represents a variety of interesting and dynamic companies. Even though we are located 45 minutes away from Silverstone we actively participate and benefit from both the virtual and physical events they organise. We like the fact that the STC is not just Motorsport or Automotive, but includes technological ventures that we might not come across in a single industry organisation
Neil Morgan – Managing Director at Danecca Goodfabs
Mackart Additive is now in its third year with the STC. The professionalism the STC Team provide reflects 100% in the quality of membership. We’ve secured new opportunities with fellow members, repeat business, and even formed a strong business partnership. A fantastic support network. A great place to be.
Steven McCarthy – Managing Director and Principal Technical Engineer at Mackart Engineering
Membership of Silverstone Technology Cluster has provided a valuable cohort of like-minded people and businesses to share our software technology with, through specifically tailored networking, leading to a healthy exchange of best practice. STC generously provides introductions and opportunities to participate on the larger, invaluable business platforms.
Paul North - Founder of illuminis Insight Software Ltd
STC is very much about empowering the advanced engineering companies within our region. It’s very clear that the people and organisations behind it are knowledgeable, well connected and determined to make this one of the UK’s stand-out industry clusters and of global significance. Why would any business specialising in engineering, technology and manufacturing not want to be a part of that?
Paul Waldron - Managing Director at EDM Precision
We would not hesitate to encourage any other business to become a member of the STC If they are interested in joining a community of businesses keen to pursue and develop important business links and work towards a larger supportive network along with current STC members.
Marcus Trofimov - Managing Director at Silverstone Composites
Through one of the STC events I was able to meet the innovation lead from a major UK airport which led to us putting together an application for and winning grant funding to carry out an autonomous simulation project for them. We were already doing autonomous simulations, but more in automotive – this has opened up a brand new potential market for us.
Mike Dempsey - Managing Director at Claytex
The big appeal is the networking. We’re a small, young business who had only a thin contacts book, but the STC has given us the introductions to compatible business which have quickly started to open up the opportunities – new leads, new projects, new ways of thinking.
Max Taylor-Smith - Co-Founder at Engineering Entropy
Being a part of the STC has enabled Grant Thornton to establish business relationships with a wide range of companies, many of whom, without the existence of the STC, we may not have had the opportunity to connect with. The importance of the thriving network community the STC has established cannot be underestimated. We feel privileged to have helped some of those companies on their business journey and very much look forward to supporting the cluster and its members as they both continue to evolve and grow.
Mark Clement – Director at Grant Thornton
As a board member since inception, I’ve seen STC grow from a start-up to an established, successful organisation. For me, it’s major success is in facilitating collaboration between members. What we have created here is an organisation that can help you market your business; connecting you to other members, to work better together. That is a very powerful thing indeed.
Simon Arkell – Principal at EMW Law
