Whilst Silverstone is world-renowned for its motorsport events, in terms of technical capabilities being nurtured in the surrounding area – anywhere within an hour’s driving time of Silverstone – motorsport only accounts for around 20%, and growth in advanced engineering can often hinge on actively seeking out cross-sectorial opportunities.
As a not-for-profit organisation supported by founding members Barclays, Buckinghamshire Council, EMW Law, Grant Thornton, Hexagon, Silverstone Park and West Northamptonshire Council, the STC aims to deliver what its membership requires, without chasing any political or financial agendas.
Bringing like-minded companies together and encouraging them to collaborate is very much at the heart of what the STC does, and we are constantly seeking our members’ input on new ways in which to do just that.
By leveraging the power of the network to reach out across the UK and abroad, our membership numbers have been steadily growing ever since our inception in 2017.
Through effective membership services such as 1-2-1 match making, on-line directory, member’s forum, opportunities bulletin, webinars and of course our events we enable our members to raise the profile of their business with key companies and individuals, both at the heart of the cluster, and much further afield.
Internationally, the STC has hosted several delegations from China, India and France, alongside interest from countries like Italy, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. Significantly, it has also engaged with organisations such as Heathrow Airport, US DEVCOM, UKSA, BAE Systems and the UK government who are all keen for STC to be the conduit to the problem-solving prowess of the companies in the network.
STC members can also gain exposure by attending and collaborating at some of our larger events throughout the year.
