We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager.



Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will employ robust management techniques to lead, grow and manage a team of engineers and associated projects from development through to production release, satisfying customer/commercial requirements within the targets and timelines of the company.



The successful candidate will:

  • Manage, prioritize and delegate engineering resource, work with programme management, operations teams, engineering leads and external production partners to move designs through milestones and gateways in a timely manner
  • Lead the team to continue to improve performance and efficiencies
  • Lead and be accountable for best practice within the Engineering Change Process
  • Manage workload of drawing office and prioritize associated tasks
  • Have a strong understanding of engineering and drawings standards
  • Provide support for the engineering bill of materials and parts costs
  • Understand Design for Manufacturing
  • Participate in DFMEA and PDMEA
  • Contribute to product enhancement
  • Keep abreast of current engineering practices, standards, materials and finishes
  • Support sales team with new enquiries
  • Help to manage recruitment efforts from CV reviews through to interviewing potential employees
  • Organise and participate in annual Personal Development Reviews



Proven experience and skills in:

  • Engineering and design standards/practices
  • Leading small teams of engineers
  • A highly relevant automotive/commercial industry (10+ years)
  • Vehicle development from concept to production phase
  • CAD systems
