Manufacturing now edges engineering as membership’s most represented specialism

Silverstone Technology Cluster

15th December 2022

Manufacturing has become the highest represented specialism of the Silverstone Technology Cluster membership, with 24% now operating in the industry ahead of those in engineering on 22%.

Latest figures from the STC continue to show the diverse nature of the membership and the range of capabilities that they offer.

They also show a rise of 2% to 8% of those businesses and organisations with an academic and research focus.

Furthermore, the STC membership now stands at 154 businesses, organisations or individuals – itself an all-time high.

STC CEO Pim van Baarsen commented: “It’s terrific to end 2022 on a real high like this – our membership is the strongest it’s ever been and the diversity and innovation within it is clearly attracting organisations on both a global and domestic level.”

Professional services business TBAT has recently joined the STC membership, bringing its expertise that helps technology companies navigate tax implications through grant funding and R&D.

It is offering a 5% discount on its services for fellow STC members.

Commercial Director Vince Seddon enthused: “Given the STC’s access to industries with innovation at the core of their growth, becoming a member is a great opportunity to help businesses to access additional funding and to also share knowledge of our existing network.

“We are always looking at ways to de-mystify the funding landscape and, with the support of the STC, we are able to provide strategic support to R&D companies within their eco-system.”
