Wearable Technology uncovered that will change the future of medical care

Silverstone Technology Cluster

26th May 2022

The Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) held their Creating a Healthier Future event on Thursday, 26th May. The event offered valuable insights from industry leaders, who shared their insights into the future of Wearable Technology and its varied application in the medical sphere.

From smart sending solutions, new materials and human technologies, the event delved into ways wearable technology can be applied to create new healthcare and medical solutions.

We explored the use of sensors in textiles to create seamless and unintrusive medical clothing items and GPS systems that can help individuals with dementia and stroke survivors.

The innovative technology could be used in every part of a patients’ journey from early diagnosis, prehabilitation, rehabilitation, physiotherapy all the way through to post- recovery. The application of sensors in textile goes far beyond the medical sphere and is widely used in areas of aerospace and sustainable energy.

In addition to the presentations, our speakers also took part in a panel Q&A session, which inspired an interesting discussion around the future of wearable technology.

Our thanks go to our speakers:
