Fresh from some unintended national media attention, Maytrix Group’s Hannah Ingram-Moore, plus Make UK’s Charlotte Horobin, South Northants MP Andrea Leadsom, Futures Forward Ltd’s Joana Lenkova, ATOS’s Paul Cunningham and CIAMM’s Julian Moore have been named as the first guest speakers to re-confirm their presence at November’s rescheduled STC Annual Conference.

The Conference will take place on the revised date of 26 November, at the Horwood House Hotel near Milton Keynes.

Hannah is the daughter of 100-year-old Captain Sir Tom Moore who has famously raised close to £40m for the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic by walking 100 lengths of his garden!

Her Milton Keynes based company, Maytrix, provides consultancy for businesses looking to recruit, train, grow and become more innovative and entrepreneurial.

Hannah is also one of five faces to be fronting the STC’s new Gender Diversity & Equality Committee.

She enthused: “I am very much looking forward to speaking at the STC Annual Conference.

“I am delighted to be talking about gender equality, diversity and inclusion within the workplace and the positive impact this has on the growth and potential of business.

“As we emerge from COVID-19, never could this be more important for the future of our economy.”

Meanwhile Charlotte, MakeUK’s Membership Director (Midlands & East), said: “It’s important we have partnerships with different trade associations and networks, and the STC is one of those partners.

“Our role is to support UK manufacturing and now, more than ever, there is going to be a need to connect and gel those local networks.

“The Silverstone region is a hotbed of highly talented people with a heritage of working across aerospace, medical, automotive and soon – also for people with the ability to solve problems and be agile.

“Considering that only 14% of our members have said that they won’t be reviewing their supply chains following the COVID-19 challenge, clearly there are opportunities for the STC network.”

Meanwhile, futurist Joana’s consultancy Futures Forward is expert in helping businesses including large corporations and public sector organisations to innovate or create more resilient strategies in times of uncertainty. This is by using strategic foresight tools and methods to plan for numerous future scenarios.

A former Walt Disney Company consumer strategist, she is also a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and a founding member of the Global Foresight Advisory Council of The Futures School.

Her participation at the Conference is set to challenge the audience’s thinking and provide a new perspective on how to plan for a successful future.

Joana commented: “I am excited about speaking at the STC Conference and demonstrating the importance of strategic foresight and futures thinking – great ways to navigate uncertainty and foster innovation.

“This is done by following a methodology that guides us through different thought processes. We learn how to spot trends, consider what implications their convergence may have on the future, create several plausible scenarios and sense-check or, if needed, modify strategies to ensure they are robust in any of these future worlds.

“I am also very much looking forward to meeting professionals across the many diverse businesses of STC who share a common goal – become more resilient, provide innovative solutions and, ultimately, change the future for the better.”
