STC Annual Conference a great success!

Silverstone Technology Cluster

6th June 2019

Our second Annual Conference proved a sell-out, so popular this year that a last-minute venue change was needed to include everyone who wanted to come! This is testament to the fast-growing value seen within the ‘High Tech Super Cluster’ as championed by Roz Bird (STC Chair) in outlining the strategic goals for the area.

This year’s Conference illustrated the significant progress made in the past year as captured by event compere Jon Corbett (Barclays, STC Founding Member) saying it was a “Very proud moment to see the progress we have made in such a short space of time”.

The event gave us an opportunity to share new technologies and ideas from some of our members, and bring together a broad range of people eager to connect and grow the Cluster’s economic potential.

“It was very useful to hear from all the companies and their innovations and my head was buzzing with ideas afterwards” – Julia Muir, Gaia Innovations.

We welcomed the continued support from by our esteemed guest, Robert Jenrick, Exchequer Secretary to the HM Treasury who “thought the whole event was extremely useful, and especially welcomed the opportunity to hear about some of the incredibly innovative businesses operating within the tech cluster”. Overall he was “extremely enthused by the work going in the area”.

Huge thanks go to our speakers for inspiring us with their insights, innovations and issues.
