Silverstone Technology Cluster launches three new special interest groups

Silverstone Technology Cluster

3rd August 2017

The Silverstone Technology Cluster continues to move at speed with a number of high-profile engineering names now set to spearhead two new special interest groups (SIGs) focusing on Digital/Advanced Manufacturing (DAM) and Autonomous, Connected, Electrified & Shared (ACES) vehicles technologies.

These add to the STC’s Computer Aided Engineering SIG. The following companies from within the Cluster will champion the SIGs:

  • CAE: Rob Lewis, Managing Director, TotalSim; Rob Rowsell, Engineering Manager, Wirth Research; Bob Hillier, Managing Director, Design Rule
  • DAM: Kieron Salter, Managing Director, KWSP
  • ACES: Roger Atkins, Managing Director, EV Outlook

The opening ACES SIG meeting for the Cluster’s companies will take place on Thursday 9 November at Silverstone Park’s Innovation Centre. This follows a successful first DAM event at KWSP in October.

Each SIG event is free to attend for companies of all sizes with expertise in the relevant areas – email STC CEO Pim van Baarsen to reserve places.

Pim commented: “We’ve already had a terrific response to both these new SIGS and ACES in particular is a really hot topic at the moment…

“It’s important to re-emphasise that we want to hear from SMEs and start-up companies just as much as we do the larger organisations.”
