Online forum “a powerful resource of knowledge & information” for members

29th June 2020

In addition to ‘weekly webinars’, the STC has created an online forum for members to share ideas, opportunities and services, and also socialise during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The forum has over 17 different ‘channels’ including one each for the high-tech network’s special interest groups: Autonomous, Connected, Electrified & Shared (ACES); Design, Simulation & Metrology (DSM); Digital & Additive Manufacturing (DAM); Wearable Technology.

Other bespoke areas featured are:

  • The STC’s new-for-2020 Business Growth’ programme
  • Annual Conference
  • Advanced Engineering Show
  • ‘Space’, following on from the network’s stand-alone event in March that brought members together with leading figures from the UK’s Space sector
  • Medical, to bring news and opportunities for members in the medical sector
  • Forthcoming relevant business webinars
  • ‘On offer’ and ‘Wanted’ channels to help members interact
  • Latest COVID-19 guidelines and policy for businesses

The platform also allows for voice and video calls between multiple participants, with virtual events and social meet-ups being planned for the future.

STC CEO Pim van Baarsen: “We are always looking at ways to add value to the membership and expand our offering.

“When it became clear live events weren’t possible due to COVID-19, we moved to increase our virtual offering with the launch of both the webinars and the forum.

“This really helps to quickly and effectively share information with stakeholders, as we receive a lot of valuable items from members and partners alike.

“The forum has enabled us to create an additional powerful resource of knowledge and information for members – something we will continue to build on going forwards.”

Please note that the forum is for STC members only. Those not already registered can email for further details.
