New Tech and Valuable Advice at Wearable Tech SIG Event

Silverstone Technology Cluster

16th July 2021

On Thursday July 15th, attendees were treated to some great new tech presentations and valuable advice during the STC’s Wearable Technology Special Interest Group event.

The first presentation was by Leon Marsh from BodyTrak who shared their exciting developments in precision physiological monitoring solutions. Their innovative earpiece is linked up to a cloud-based analytics platform and allows automation of health & safety and performance monitoring.

John Kensett from Dolleymores patent attorneys shared his expert insights on how well-drafted patents can provide invaluable protection covering all aspects of innovation in the Wearables area and highlight valuable tax benefits under the Patent Box scheme.

Last but not least, Paul Brook from Conductive Transfers presented on their new technology for printing stretchable electronics and integrating them into textiles. Already impacting on sectors including medical, automotive, sport and industry, this developing business offered a valuable insight into the process of developing prototypes, trials and a scale-up “tech transfer” strategy for licensing production.

“As always at our Special Interest Group events, we saw a great mix of interesting new tech being presented, important issues highlighted and like-minded people networking” commented STC CEO Pim van Baarsen. “It is great to see this happening even in an online environment and hopefully we will soon be back in a position where we can do this in ‘real life’”.

The recording of this event is now available on our STC Youtube channel.
