Job description

  • KWSP is working at the cutting edge of the growing additive manufacturing market space producing lightweight, high performance plastic and metal parts for the aerospace, automotive, motorsport and medical sectors.  
  • The company is developing a 18,000ft bespoke additive manufacturing facility embedded within the Silverstone technology cluster
  • We are seeking a talented engineer to develop with our growing business of additive and composite application engineering work loads
  • Experience within the additive and composite manufacturing environments is a prerequisite, along with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
  • Key position deliverables;
    • Developing additive engineering methodology, along with processes and manufacturing strategies to achieve both business and customer needs from first principles.
    • Engineering project delivery of customer projects – composite and additive
    • Evaluate the latest advancements in AM; assess the machines and process standards for both polymers and metals for suitability at KWSP
      • Machine function
      • Software function
      • Process delivery
    • Knowledge and competency of multiple design suites an advantage – Materialise magics, Stratasys, Catia, Solidworks etc


Personnel must haves;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 3 years or equivalent, ie apprenticeship, time served experience / training
  • Ability to conduct material science analysis, characterization, simulation, test and/or verification of AM hardware.
  • Complete process knowledge for metal Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) to make successful build, either steel, titanium or aluminium.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of composite manufacturing engineering design process, specifically prepreg material matrix’s
  • Ability to prioritise work and multitasking a wide range of deadlines and projects
  • Confident in interrogation of engineering drawings and use of CAD/build software
  • Self-motivated and Self-Starter
  • Able to work well within a team
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Flexible as to sector and project types
  • Able to demonstrate an excellent attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to quality and meeting customer requirements
  • Have a flexible approach to work and hours
