Govt network’s ‘hassle-free’ tech adoption guide to further support Cluster businesses

Businesses across the Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) region can now benefit from online ‘jargon free’ guidance by government-backed organisation Be the Business (BtB) about how adopting new technology can improve their performance.

The guidance is free and available to all businesses in the Cluster’s geography (not just members) as part of the STC’s business growth programmes in 2021 with BtB.

Supporting the programmes’ activity is MEPC, developer of Silverstone Park which is a founding member of the STC and keen supporter of business…

The BtB guidance explains how tech adoption – such as CRM systems, Enterprise Resource Planning and HR software – can help to boost employee engagement, operations and sales.

A ‘one-stop-shop’, it includes explainers, interactive guides, action plans and tech adoption case studies to simplify the procedure.

STC CEO Pim van Baarsen explained: “The BtB platform has been built with the types of business in our region in mind, providing free, independent advice based on extensive consultation with over a hundred companies.

“It cuts through the jargon to provide actionable advice for all the common technology problems that businesses are likely to face.

“Furthermore, because Be the Business is independent and fully funded by government, they never try to sell anything and are not acting on commission, which makes the guidance even more straightforward.”

Elsewhere, the STC is also able to offer for free places on its ‘Leadership Pathways’ and ‘Mentoring for Growth’ programmes with BtB.

In conjunction with the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Pathways programme provides expert training to improve leadership skills.

Mentoring for Growth potentially provides employees of businesses in the Cluster with their own dedicated mentor. The programme is also open to hearing from senior business figures from within the region who would like to offer their services as a mentor alongside BtB’s own network of business experts.

Pim continued: “Places for Mentoring for Growth, for both mentors and mentees, remain available and we, along with BtB, would love to hear from those interested.

“It is not one mentor per business either – it can be a mentor each per employee. The rewards can be considerable in terms of personal performance and productivity.”

Meanwhile, interest in another of the STC’s growth programmes with BtB’s – its SME Advisory Boards – has also been high. This provides smaller companies in the Cluster with an unrivalled opportunity to access expertise and insight from successful business leaders.
