11th May 2021Specialist support in mentoring for company leaders and employees is now available for free as one of the Silverstone Technology Cluster’s (STC) growth programmes with government-backed network Be the Business (BtB).
The ‘Mentoring for Growth’ programme can provide employees of businesses based in the STC region with a dedicated expert on a variety of disciplines.
With multidisciplinary specialists from companies such as BAE Systems, Rolls Royce and Siemens, the programme offers an unrivalled opportunity for SMEs in the area to gain advice and expertise.
STC CEO Pim van Baarsen explained: “The programmes that we are running with Be the Business have proven very valuable and successful, and the Mentoring for Growth programme is the most powerful of all.
“There is a wealth of knowledge and expertise waiting to be shared, and I would urge businesses within the STC to tap into this for themselves as well as their employees.
“As it is a 1-2-1 relationship, it is possible for multiple people within the business to work with multiple experts. The rewards can be considerable in terms of personal performance and productivity.”
A free-to-attend webinar will be held on Thursday 3 June at which experts from Be the Business – including co-Chair of the Defence Partnership and Be the Business Fellow Andrew Cowdery – will talk about the programme, its benefits and share successful case studies.

Another of the free BtB programmes available through the STC is Leadership Pathways.
This requires as little as ten hours to complete and participants will receive a certificate of achievement and an accreditation from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Pim continued: “Not only is this pathway a fantastic way for business managers to develop their management competencies but it is also a great opportunity for business owners to develop their emerging future leaders.”
