Composites UK latest industry body to become STC member

Silverstone Technology Cluster

3rd June 2020

Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites industry, and the STC have become reciprocal members of one another.

As part of the agreement, the two organisations will:

  • Promote each other on their respective websites
  • Promote each other’s events and conference
  • Offer discounts for both sets of member companies
  • Invite each other to speak at relevant events

Significantly, Composites UK adds to the growing number of influential industry bodies partnering with the STC with the likes of MakeUK (engineering and manufacturing), The Open University (science, research and education) and Medilink East Midlands (life sciences) also now among its membership.

Charlotte White, SME Relationship Manager at Composites UK, commented: “It’s great to be partnered with an advanced engineering cluster to strengthen our links with UK industry.

“The cluster has demonstrated high levels of engineering capability in a small area of the UK; this compliments the Composites UK membership and we hope to see opportunities and partnerships being formed for all our members.

“We look forward to working with the Silverstone Technology Cluster going forward, offering joint support for our members.”

Pim van Baarsen, CEO of the STC, added: “Naturally, composites and advanced materials are part and parcel of many of our members’ work, and working together with Composites UK will give our members access to another valuable network of potential partners and suppliers.

“We are delighted to be partnered with Composites UK and very much look forward to working with them.”
